The Living-God
This is an introduction to 'The Other Realms'. It introduces the main baddy
The Year of Cannon (as counted in the S2 realm)
He looked out through the force-curtain that kept the atmosphere in the hanger-deck. The Inner Sphere stretched off towards what looked like infinity. Apart from the red sun, there was nothing else in the inner system to see.
He was Lord of everything, life was restricted to this part of the Sphere, that was established dogma. Outside of the Sphere was a cold empty hell, unwarmed by the sun’s rays, populated by demons that would feast upon souls of the non-believers. The dogma was established by him, it had to be said. He was about to turn away when something caught his eye. Something was moving. He watched as something slowly drifted across his field of vision. He turned his vision up to maximum zoom and stared at it. It was a small craft. His established dogma was wrong, there must be something or someone else living in the Sphere. He stared at the small dot. If there were other people, he would have to do something about it. He could not and would not allow a rival, after all he was a God, his followers kept telling him so and if his follower’s didn’t tell him then his priests told them to die. Which they duly did.
He said nothing, but in the days and weeks that followed he saw other craft or perhaps it was the same one, always travelling on the same path in one direction or the other. He bided his time, after all he was immortal.
The Year of Zippy (as counted in the S2 realm)
“It has been revealed to me that there are people living in other parts of the Sphere,” The Living-God announced. “There is another God who is most evil. We must free the poor souls who live under his rule. Until now he has hidden himself from me, for he must fear me greatly, but now I have found him. We must find out where he resides and we must destroy him. I need volunteers to learn how to fly the craft we have here and to find out where this evil resides.”
